TV and Film and Media Experience

Ian has appeared in a multitude of publications since losing his legs. He was also the featured child in the ’25 years of Livingston’ commemorative book back in the 1980’s.

In 2006, Ian appeared on Channel 4’s “Men in white” science programme. The scientists on the show made an attachment for his above knee prosthetic leg that contained an ipod, disco lights, an alarm and a pedometer. The show was made by Tiger aspect productions and was produced by Rachel Curran.

In 2007, Ian got his first film role, playing a badly wounded sailor in the film ‘Ocean of Fear’ made by Brook Lapping productions and filmed at Pinewood studios. The film is about the U.S.S Indianapolis , a U.S navy cruiser that was sunk in Guam in 1945 just after delivering vital parts for the atomic bombs that were to be dropped on Japan. The crew of the ship were not rescued immediately resulting in the worst shark attack in history as the helpless sailors were devoured by the huge killer fish. Ian’s amputations and burns scarring made him ideal for this part, though the directors were also very impressed with his acting skills.

Ian is available for ANY kind of work. He is stunt trained and proficient in the use of many pre 1900 firearms. His fading scars are ideal as they can easily be covered up, yet at the same time it doesn’t take much make up to make his scars look horrific again. He is comfortable appearing either in his wheelchair, wearing his prosthetic legs, or with neither.

As Ian’s amputations are one above knee and one below knee, he is ideal for recreating the horrific injuries caused by shark attacks or land mines.

You can book him directly through this site or through the agencies he is registered with, www.amputeesinaction.co.uk and www.rentacrowd.co.uk.
